    Treating Lymphatic Stagnation:

    • Poke root is traditionally used for promoting lymphatic drainage. It can help stimulate the lymphatic system, aiding in the removal of toxins from the body, and supporting detoxification and immune function. It is often applied to the area around swollen lymph nodes or to stimulate circulation and reduce fluid retention.
    • Applying heat after using Poke Root Salve on the skin can be a highly effective way to enhance its benefits, especially for supporting the lymphatic system. Heat promotes circulation, increases blood flow, and stimulates the lymphatic system, aiding in the detoxification process and the reduction of swelling or stagnation in the body. Here's how to properly apply heat after using the salve:

Instructions for Applying Heat After Poke Root Salve:

    • Cleanse the Area: Before applying the salve, clean the area of your skin to ensure that it is free from dirt or oils that might prevent absorption.

    • Apply Poke Root Salve:

      • Gently massage a small amount of Poke Root Salve onto the affected area where you are experiencing pain, inflammation, or lymphatic congestion. Focus on areas like swollen lymph nodes, muscle soreness, or bruising, sore & swollen lymps in the breast tissue.
      • Ensure that the salve is absorbed into the skin by massaging it for a 3 to 5 minutes.
    • Apply Heat:

      • After the salve is applied, you can use heat to help enhance its effects on your lymphatic system. Here are a few methods to apply heat:
        • Warm Compress: Soak a clean cloth or towel in warm (not hot) water, wring it out, and place it over the area where the salve has been applied. You can also use a hot water bottle wrapped in a towel or a heating pad on the affected area.
        • Heated Pads: Use a heating pad or electric heating pad on the treated area to maintain a consistent level of warmth. Make sure the heat is comfortable and not too intense, as excessive heat can irritate the skin.
        • Hot Shower or Bath: If applying the salve to a larger area, such as your back or legs, consider soaking in a warm bath or using a steamy shower to create heat. The warm water will also help relax muscles and improve circulation.
    • Leave Heat on for 15-20 Minutes:

This will give enough time for the heat to encourage circulation, help the salve penetrate deeper into the skin, and stimulate lymphatic flow.
    • Remove Heat and Relax:

      • After the heat treatment, remove the compress or heating pad. Rest in a comfortable position, allowing the body to absorb the full benefits of the salve and the increased blood flow.
      • Foot soak: for best results include our detoxing foot soak after finish the previous insrtuctions to support your bodies detoxification process.
    • Repeat as Needed:

      • For best results, repeat this process a few times a week, or as needed, for relief of muscle soreness, swelling, or lymphatic congestion & breast pain.
    • Benefits of Heat Application:

    • Stimulates Lymphatic Flow: Heat encourages the movement of lymphatic fluid, helping to clear toxins and reduce inflammation.
    • Promotes Circulation: Heat opens blood vessels, enhancing the flow of oxygen and nutrients to tissues while helping to flush out waste products.
    • Increases Absorption: Applying heat increases the absorption of the Poke Root Salve, allowing its healing and anti-inflammatory properties to work more effectively.
    • Caution:

    • Avoid Excessive Heat: Ensure that the heat is warm and comfortable, not too hot, to avoid irritation or burns.
    • Test for Sensitivity: Always perform a patch test before applying Poke Root Salve to ensure there is no allergic reaction or skin sensitivity, especially if you're using heat simultaneously.
    • Drink plenty of water, or fresh coconut water 1 hour befor this process.
    • Making a homemade heating pad

      • Making a homemade heating pad using rice is a simple and effective DIY project. Here's how to do it:

        Materials Needed:

      • A fabric (cotton works well, but any soft, durable fabric will do)
      • Uncooked rice (white, brown, or any type you prefer)
      • A sewing machine (or needle and thread if hand-sewing)
      • Scissors
      • A funnel (optional, but helpful for pouring the rice)
      • A measuring cup
      • A ruler or fabric marker (for measuring and marking)
      • Instructions:

        Prepare the Fabric:

      • Cut the fabric into two equal rectangles or squares. A common size for a heating pad is about 10 inches by 12 inches, but you can make it larger or smaller depending on your needs.
      • Sew the Fabric Together:

      • Place the two pieces of fabric together with the sides you want on the outside facing inward.
      • Sew around the edges, leaving a small opening (about 2-3 inches) on one side. This opening will be used to fill the fabric with rice.
      • Make Rice Compartments (Optional):

      • To make the rice pad more flexible, you can divide the fabric into compartments. To do this:
        • Measure and mark sections on the fabric with a fabric marker or ruler (you could divide it into 2–4 sections).
        • Sew lines across the fabric in the areas where you marked, creating small pockets. This step helps distribute the rice more evenly when it's heated.
      • Fill with Rice:

      • Use a funnel or carefully pour rice into the fabric pouch until it’s about 75% full. Don’t overfill it—leave room for the rice to shift when heated.
      • If you made compartments, fill each one with rice.
      • Sew the Opening Closed:

      • Once the rice is inside, sew the opening shut using a needle and thread or your sewing machine. Make sure the seams are secure to prevent rice from spilling out.
      • Use the Heating Pad:

      • To use your rice heating pad, simply microwave it. Place the pad in the microwave for about 1-2 minutes. Heat it in 30-second intervals to avoid overheating.
      • Carefully touch the pad to check the temperature before applying it to your body.
      • Optional Add-ins:

      • If you'd like, you can add dried lavender, essential oils, or herbs to the rice for a pleasant scent while using the heating pad. Just mix the herbs into the rice before sewing it closed.
      • Tips:

      • Safety Note: Always check the heating pad’s temperature before applying it to your skin to avoid burns. Don’t leave it in the microwave for too long, and be sure to let it cool down if it gets too hot.
      • You can also place the rice heating pad in the freezer if you want to use it as a cold pack.
      • This simple homemade heating pad is a great way to relieve muscle pain, soothe cramps, or warm up on a cold day!
